The Story of the Game

Combat Petanque was created in Finland in the late 1990's from "normal" petanque by a few bored friends wasting time at a Finnish summer cottage. The game has clear similarities to it's predecessor but it's more aggressive and requires different throwing skills. The game is best suited for varied terrains and it can and should be played practically anywhere, on steep slopes, rocks and gravel, grassy hills and even snow and ice.

The Finnish Combat Petanque Association was founded in 2003 and has been growing fast since. The Association organizes many official competitions in Finland thruout the year and is slowly looking to expand the sport to other countries as well.
